Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using this service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Description of Service

CardForge AI provides tools for creating, reviewing, saving, and exporting study flashcards. Ready-made decks may be browsed or downloaded where available. AI card generation uses digital AI Credits and may also be available through paid Pro plans. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.

User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Infringe on the intellectual property or other rights of any party.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service.
  • Use the service to send spam, malware, or other harmful content.

Payment and Billing

CardForge AI may offer one-time AI Credit packs and optional Pro subscriptions in USD. One-time Credit packs do not renew. Pro subscriptions renew automatically for the selected billing period until canceled, unless the checkout page or provider terms state otherwise. No physical shipment is provided. Credits or plan access are delivered to your account after successful payment confirmation and are used for supported AI generation features. You are responsible for providing accurate billing information.

Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy, on a case-by-case basis when credits have not been materially used, when a duplicate purchase occurs, when credits or plan access were not delivered, when a subscription billing issue occurs, or when required by applicable law.

Intellectual Property

The service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

AI Credits, Pro Subscriptions, and Delivery

CardForge AI uses a digital Credit model for AI generation. Credits are account usage balances that can be purchased in one-time packs, granted through eligible promotions, or included with supported plans. Credits are not a bank account, stored-value card, currency, investment product, or transferable asset. They are a product usage balance inside CardForge AI.

Credit purchases and Pro plan access are delivered to the account used during checkout after the payment provider confirms a successful transaction. The amount of credits, plan benefits, price, renewal period, and currency are shown before purchase. We may change credit packs, pricing, promotional offers, plan limits, or supported providers in the future, but changes will not reduce credits that have already been delivered to your account except as required for fraud prevention, chargebacks, refunds, or corrections.

Credits are consumed based on the user-facing card generation rule shown in the product at the time of use. The current rule is based on completed AI cards, with a minimum charge per generation batch. Internal model token usage, provider pricing, and platform cost controls are not shown as the user-facing bill. If a request cannot be completed because the balance or plan access is insufficient, the service may ask you to purchase more credits or upgrade before continuing.

AI Card Generation

AI card generation creates draft flashcards from user-provided sources such as readable PDFs, Word documents, TXT files, spreadsheets, pasted notes, or vocabulary lists. The service may ask you to describe the target output, including card type, language direction, topic, number of cards, or review goal.

Generated cards are educational drafts. You are responsible for reviewing them before relying on them for study. The service may help create Basic cards, Cloze cards, vocabulary cards, professional concept cards, and Anki-compatible exports, but it does not guarantee that every generated card is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for a particular exam.

For professional, medical, legal, financial, or regulated material, you must verify cards against the original source and applicable professional guidance. CardForge AI is not a substitute for an instructor, licensed professional, official guideline, or exam authority.

Source Files and User Content

You are responsible for the content you upload, paste, generate, save, export, or share through the service. You must have the right to process that content. Do not upload confidential, unlawful, infringing, highly sensitive, or restricted material unless you have appropriate authorization and understand the risks.

The service processes source files for the active card-generation request and saves reviewed card sets only when account features are used. We do not store original uploaded files, complete source text, filenames, page references, or source quotes in saved card sets. The Anki Extra field contains only study notes you add or keep while reviewing a card; we do not automatically place source metadata in it. If you need your original sources, keep your own copies.

You retain ownership of your user content, subject to the rights you grant us to operate the service. By using the service, you grant us the limited rights needed to host, process, transform, display, export, secure, troubleshoot, and support your content.

Ready-Made Decks

CardForge AI may provide ready-made decks, examples, sample cards, or public deck library content. These decks are intended for preview, learning, and product demonstration unless otherwise stated. Some decks may be free, while future decks may be paid, limited, or account-gated.

Each ready-made deck may include source, license, language direction, tags, and import fields where available. Users should still inspect the deck before importing it into Anki. Built-in decks are not guaranteed to cover an entire course, exam, language level, or professional standard.

Anki Export and Third-Party Tools

CardForge AI exports native APKG packages by default. Pro may additionally export Basic TXT, Cloze TXT, and CSV compatibility files. Anki is a separate third-party application. CardForge AI is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anki unless explicitly stated. You are responsible for importing files correctly, mapping fields to the right note types, and keeping backups of your Anki collection.

The service may provide guidance for Front, Back, Extra, and Tags fields, but the final import behavior depends on Anki settings, note types, separators, duplicate handling, and user actions.

Account Security

You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Use an email account you control, do not share login links or credentials, and notify support if you suspect unauthorized access. We may require email verification, rate limits, abuse checks, or additional security controls before allowing sensitive actions.

We may suspend or restrict accounts that appear to be involved in fraud, abuse, payment disputes, automated scraping, credential sharing, unauthorized resale, or attempts to bypass credit limits.

Payments, Refunds, and Chargebacks

Payments are processed by supported third-party providers such as PayPal, Creem, or other processors shown at checkout. A successful payment may create a credit grant, subscription record, invoice, or billing event in your account. If payment is canceled, fails, is reversed, refunded, or is flagged as risky, credits or plan access may not be delivered or may be removed.

Refunds are handled under the Refund Policy. Because AI Credits and Pro access are digital products used for generation, refund eligibility may depend on whether credits were delivered, consumed, duplicated, renewed, or affected by a technical issue. Subscriptions can be canceled according to the controls provided by the service or payment provider. Chargebacks or payment disputes may result in account restrictions while the dispute is investigated.

CardForge AI is currently operated as a small independent online software service. Payment providers may issue receipts or payment confirmations according to their own systems. We may not be able to provide formal tax invoices, VAT invoices, or enterprise procurement documents unless that capability is explicitly shown at checkout or confirmed by billing support.

Prohibited Conduct

You may not use CardForge AI to:

  • Violate laws, regulations, sanctions, or third-party rights.
  • Upload or process content you do not have permission to use.
  • Generate spam, harassment, abuse, malware, phishing, deceptive content, or harmful instructions.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, overload, scrape, bypass credits, bypass rate limits, or attack the service.
  • Resell generated content or ready-made decks in a way that violates source licenses or platform rules.
  • Misrepresent generated cards as official medical, legal, financial, or exam authority content.

We may remove content, deny requests, limit access, revoke credits obtained through abuse, or suspend accounts when these rules are violated.

Age and Eligibility

CardForge AI is not directed to children under 13. You may use the service only if you can legally agree to these Terms in your location, or if a parent or guardian has reviewed and accepted the service on your behalf where required by law.

Service Availability and Changes

We aim to keep the service available, but online services can experience downtime, provider outages, model failures, payment delays, database issues, or deployment errors. We may change, improve, limit, or discontinue features as the product evolves.

Some features may remain in beta, including AI generation, built-in decks, account dashboards, notifications, credit history, and payment provider integrations. Beta features may change more frequently than stable features.

Disclaimers

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that generated cards will be error-free, that every source file will parse correctly, that every AI result will match your intent, or that every exported file will import into every Anki configuration without adjustment.

Study results depend on many factors outside our control, including source quality, prompt quality, card review, Anki settings, course requirements, and user behavior.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CardForge AI and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, study results, exam outcomes, or business opportunities arising from use of the service.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the amount you paid for the affected service during the relevant period, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Contact and Support

For product support, billing questions, credit delivery issues, refund requests, or account access problems, contact us through the Contact page. Please include your account email, approximate time, provider or order reference when available, and a concise explanation of the issue.

These Terms may be updated as the product adds new AI models, payment providers, deck library features, sharing options, or account controls. Continued use of the service after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
